Puppet's March

Y’know what’s funny?

One of the big arguments against writing by having your characters operate semi-autonomously in your head like I do (i.e. talking to them and such) is that you’ll grow too attached to them and be reluctant to kill or get rid of them if the story requires it. I have one thing to say to this criticism:

PFFFFF—

Filed under LOL NO i planned another character death recently he's just a minor character though ...ok he's pretty important ....the protagonist dies too yeah you can pretty much use me as a counterargument to that just my existence in general

nonsensicallyrics replied to your post: I’m going to put this to a vote.

if it’s spain, it should be a revenge killing. judging by their theater they were really into revenge. usually for affairs or something. maybe death tipped off the father or husband of the person the guy was affairing, and they put out a hit on him

He hadn’t made the bet at that point in time; no one, himself and Death included, realized his immortality until after he’d died. The bet actually comes quite some time later. Also, this scenario doesn’t work in that it would involve people being interested in and noting his survival.

I’m going to put this to a vote.

Possibly multiple votes; we’ll see how the first round of suggestions goes. I’m not sure how many of you know about my character Santiago? Immortal, made a bet with Death that he was in fact completely immortal, so he gets quite a few attempts on his life, none of which have worked for the past several hundred years. (Messy immortality, so he does get injured and die all of these times; he just heals afterward.) In any case, I’m about to write the scene with his first death, so I need to decide on an initial manner of death. So…suggestions? Keeping in mind that this would be happening in medieval Spain? Preferrably a scenario in which there could conceivably be few or no witnesses.

Thank you in advance to those of you who choose to answer. <3
